  • In 2002 received Doctorate Degree from the Ola Grimsby Institute of Manual Therapy
  • In 2004 completed manual therapy residency in spinal manipulation, also through the Ola Grimsby Institute

  • Owner of private practice since 1991
  • Member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Orthopedic section

  • Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists

    Office Manager

    Emily is originally from Southern California and moved to Alaska  in 2010 when she married an Alaskan. She has always enjoyed reading, shopping, and hiking, but has added some new favorite activities since moving here; rocking climbing and fishing! Her two dogs like to join her in outdoor adventures.
    Church and Bible study are a priority for Emily, who majored in Bible at The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California.
    Emily has been at Joint Effort since 2013: she is the person often “behind the scenes” getting insurance claims paid!
     

    Hayley Kocinski

    Receptionist

    Hayley was raised in South Anchorage and is happily married to a Missourian transplant. She graduated from Alaska Career College as a Nationally Certified Medical Assistant in 2011 and has since been working in the medical field. Hayley has a passion for holistic patient care and takes pride in making every patient’s experience a positive one! On her off time, she loves playing with her two children and dogs, exploring outdoors, and yoga. Hayley is our friendly face at the front desk.
     

    Derek Henry

    Technician

    Derek was born and raised right here in the Anchorage area. He enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, relaxing, and training dogs, while aspiring to one day become a Physical Therapist. Before attending UAA, he attended Everett Community College in Washington. After playing baseball there for 2 years he returned back home and graduated from UAA in 2014 earning a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and a minor in Athletic Training. Derek is one of our physical therapy technicians, so you can typically see him around the clinic helping patients with exercises.
